WE’VE MISSED ANOTHER ONE, AUSTRALIA’S JESUS

December 21, 2021

Before today only one player had picked for Australia before being mentioned by CWB.

David Warner.

That was forgivable, as the dude hadn’t even played first class cricket, and I had been meaning to get around to his Delhi call up, but had been slack.

He now has a mate on the list, Ben Laughlin.

Laughlin has been picked to go to South Africa as Sizzle and Hilfy are going to be rested.

Laughlin has been tearing it up for Queensland this year, but to be honest, I didn’t think he was even on the list.

Apparently I was wrong.

Laughlin is a professional bowler from Queensland.

When asked about his selection he had this to say, “This morning I bowled fantastic. Tonight the lanes played a little bit different.”

No one understood him.

I know I have seen him bowl at least once, but he made no impact on me whatsoever.

I didn’t even know his father was former Vic All Rounder Trevor Laughlin.

I did a bit of research, and this is from his wikipage.

Ben Laughlin is a professional bowler. He is the current Professional Bowlers Association Western Regional champ. When Laughlin was stationed with the US Air Force in Germany, he won the 1994 European Masters Championship. Since then, he has bowled thirty-six 300 games and won seven western region titles. He was the 2000 Rookie of the Year and 2001 Bowler of the Year. Ben and his family reside in Maricopa, Arizona.

You really don’t need to know any more do you.

But there is more, the man is a carpenter.

Like Jesus.

Hence the title of the piece.

No one makes a better fast bowler than a tradie.

Other than a homicidal maniac, but they are harder to find.
