Test match sofa are starting a weekly podcast, and I’m on the first one.

I’m involved in the round table discussion where I call someone a retarded space monkey, compare another players brain to a potato and say they Aleem Dar smiles when he plays ping pong.

There is also an interview with IOB, and heaps of other stuff.

Go to their site and check it out.

Will have to give it a listen when I get home.

On another note – have you been trolling “The Punch” again jrod? There’s a bloke by the name of Rod J’That talking about having bradmans batting average tatooed on his face….

    Good work from the team.

I’ll address one thing you said – Damien Martyn has played in the last 4 years. He captained an ICL side. Looked in awesome touch, too.

Having said that, extremely surprising selection – but at least they’re not dropping 700k on marginal players. My guess is that Warne recognised that you need some experience in your playing list especially with these crazy youth player rules the IPL has. Warne had Lehmann on the playing list in IPL1 and is maybe looking for something similar.
Last year Royals paid good money for Quiney and Caseldine and watched them pretty much sit on the bench for a month and add no value – due to form and international player selection restrictions. So it probably makes pretty smart business sense to drop just a 100k on a good bat/assistant coach/mentor/and possible captain if Warne is injured.

Marvellous effort that, easily the most exciting and original podcast to appear over the 2009/10 series. The work of the guy interviewing Iain O’Brien is worthy of consideration by Channel Nine. Could he be the next Mark Nicholas?!

Jrod, did you pick up the English accent yet? Or does it come naturally to Aussies? Besides, what would happen if Sehwag and Seagal were to feature together in a Mt Dew ad?

Wolf, I stay clear of the punch, as i fear that site would make me want to do just that.

Hewy, you and I could look in touch playing in the ICL, we should apply actually.

Yawn, listen and you tell me.

Jrod, True. And with match fixing in the ICL, wasn’t captaining a side basically tossing the coin and the winner electing whether they would win or lose?
