I could have easily written a post saying how sad I was that IOB has given up test cricket, but I am too sad for words, so I have made an emotional photo essay instead.

    A spectacularly mediocre bowler who knows how to compensate for his lack of cricketing talent with his cheerful writings. Your slobbering with deference over him is justified.

    Cricinfo also has a tribute for him:

    @kala kutta

    He wasn’t ineffective, it was just that he decided to do the donkey’s work of bowling into the wind, something which no-one likes to do and something which not everyone could do…

    Like Dan said, IOB’s value to the team was only known by his teammates!

    BTW, is it just me or is IOB’s new blog making it really hard to post comments?

    Can I sue?? Can you just take MY photos and claim them as you own?? Not even a link to where you got them from!

    WTF!

    I don’t like you anymore, and I won’t be buying OUR book (that’s cause you’re sending me a couple anyway!!).
    OB´s last blog ..Hi all

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

    He was the only bowler we had who could bowl into the 140’s (apart from Bond).

    Now when Bond inevitably gets injured again (no wait, he’s already injured), we’ll be left with a bunch of crappy, Ewen Chatfield style medium pacers.

    My god we need another Hadlee “cries”.

    OB, I didn’t want to clutter a post in your honour with clumsy links, i didn’t even put a link to my book in. But I’ll put it in now. And every link you have.

    Lucky OB gets to live in Chesterfield, drink in the Red Lion and give his Mrs a lift to work. Nets start first Sunday in January at Cricketal Iain, always a space for you in the seconds.
