Dear all thee of very little faith (Mishy – i am looking at you). I was one of the lucky few who had not gone home when this got bowled. It was a Doosra (how he bowls it is of no relevance…)
The fact it hit the rough is of no relevance either – it is the same as a leg spinner doing the same or an offie into the LA’s footmarks. This turned more than any ball Steve Smith bowled. It deceived one of the form batsman in the country (prev scores of 80, 67, 150 plus and 140).
The point is if this bloke can start to consistently land an offie he is going to be good – even better than (Quentin) Bryce.
In other news – did any one see or have footage of that bloke Cowan flying like a fuzzy haired dwarf to take catch of the century vs NSW in the OD game?

Who cares what you call it, that was a fucken good ball – thanks for posting that Jrod. The best part was in the very last second you can see in Khawaja’s body language he is thinking, ‘Did that actually happen? Should I be walking off here? Am I drunk?’
“but I will say that Australia are just as harsh on their own potential chuckers as they are on those they suspect internationally,”
Seriously? I didnt know, Aussies were harsh on all their fast bowlers like Bret Lee..? didnt that ICC testing find that every bowler in history except for Sarwan has a certain degree of flexing?
Nashad, walk into any pub during summer in Australia and you will find people who will tell you that Lee or Tait is a chucker. I’ve also heard people at the G yell out no ball to Lee in the way they do to Murali, although, obviously not as many. Troy Corbett was “thrown” out of shield in the mid 90s after he was called once. No tests, no re-styling of his technique, he wasn’t told not to bowl certain balls, just dropped. Whether it is the crowd or the officials, they are harsh. Geoff Foley was abused at every stage game he played in.
But is Lee hounded in the media like a Murali or Akthar (for chucking alone, God knows Akthar has enough other things for the media to hound him) is.
If a Aussie chucker spinner comes along, what will happen is he will continue to play and take 300+ intl wickets, while a lot of people in Oz continue to ‘call’ him a chucker.
That’s cool – asian nations need to start following the same strategy. Well, they do half of it already because chuckers in Asian nations continue to play international cricket but they need to master the latter part also – keep taking the moral high ground without doing anything concrete
Ok, let me start this strategic initiative
Harbhajan singh chucks his doosra. Doosra, harbhajan chucks it. Doosra is chucked by Harbhajan.
There you have an instance of an Indian condemning an Indian chucker. I urge my fellow Indian blog commenters to spread the word in as many blogs as possible – that way we can also build up a substantial proof of Indians having condemned a chucker
(dont worry, Bhajan will never be banned just as Lee wasnt. This is jut to build up the same moral high ground that Ozzies love to take while they continue to perform the same actions as us!)
I must add that the Indian board has wisened up – they have started banning a few second-rate spinners who dont have a remote chance of making the Indian team, for chucking. In a few years, we can build up enough cases of chuckers domestically banned(but these will be average bowlers who never stood achance to make it to intl cricket anyway!) so that we can also claim that “We filter out chuckers at domestic levels” while continuing to allow the intl level chuckers.
haha! If Aussies can do it, so can we – this whole moral hogwash
Raj, we got the power, we just ban the umpire who has the temerity to call one of ours. And lets get that damn veto power back in the hands of those who rule now, shall we.
Homer or someone with the inclination to build blog posts with solid proofs must start building up the list of indian domestic bowlers called for chucking this season and going forward. In a few years, we should be able to throw such statistics at Aussies who take the moral high ground. That way, we can still continue to play chuckers who are good enough for intl cricket, while still maintaining an image of purity and morality. That’s what Oz and Eng have been doing for years anyway. Let’s learn from them – the trickery, guile and cunning.
jogesh, I guess you are being sarcastic(?). Anyway, I am all for BCCI taking the veto power. Because in a few years, their influence will wane, and sure bet, ECB and ACB will take the veto power when their influence increases. We better make hay while the sun shines.

We should have just gotten the fcking south koreans to clone McGrath and been done with it. Even if the clones didn’t live long, can always make more. Nathan´s last blog ..Sreesanth the Bloody
But it is C-grade batting
And he also hit a crack.
it is a leg spinner..
who certifies claims by bowlers who think they have perfected the doosra
Ankit Mishra´s last blog ....and thus the prodigal returneth. So?
That pitch looks like the X-ray of an ogre.
If you ask me if it is not video editing , that is true real doosra. Also there is a chance it might have hit a small stone.
Until we see it consistenly we can’t take it for granted.

Brett lee and shoaib akthar has same action. Both chucks.
Most Aussies I know think Brett Lee chucks.
If Tait isn’t a chucker, then no-one can ever be called a chucker.
