I am starting to wish the Champion’s League* people had an asterisk on all their marketing.
I love the idea of this tournament, but it isn’t only champions, because runners up are involved.
And it isn’t only the best, because the best performed international side in 2020 world thingies, one title, two finals, doesn’t even have a fucked side in.
If anyone deserves the title champions it this format it is them.
That is the one thing stopping me from peeing myself in excitement over this tournament.
Australia, South Africa and England all have two sides in this tournament, and none of them have even made the final of the world t20 yet.
England may never reach it.
Pakistan’s style of play was invented years ago hoping that one day 2020 cricket would be invented.
They are the kings, even the first IPL title was won with two Pakistanis in the side.
Australia have ignored imports for years in domestic cricket, this year their 2 of the sides had Pakistanis in them.
So this is not a complete Champion’s league, it is an almost Champion’s league.
Although that won’t look good on the poster, so instead they should start a campaign of propaganda informing the general cricket public that Pakistan are shit at 2020.

Yeh im south african. I feel in terms of orthodox cricket. South africa, aus n eng r th best bt that is changing for Sa. Cos the style of playas r changing, thus meaning they hav potential. But for 2020 th pakistanis r tops. Its got to do with th cricket boards i feel. Sa, eng, aus, al hav corruption, bt cricket stil comes 1st. Th pcb on the other hand.. i dont think cricket is even on the list. Hence y th motivation to playas only come with enjoyment factor of the game (2020). I believe that if th pcb concentration on cricket even as much as sa or eng. They could be challenging seriously for number 1. Obviously ther r other matters, with playas etc but overal thats th boards responsibility
Ok the Pakistan side one the recent 20/20 tournement in England, but are they really that good? Don’t forget they lost two games along the way including one to England the side conquered by the Dutch!
ah, I am pretty excited about Champions League and thinking of it having a success like Champions League of soccer. But missing our Sialkot stalion team in it, it would have been much more exciting and appealing specially for Pakistani fan if their team could have make it.
Also if they can Internationalize it could be more awesome, like teams playing at there home and away against each other.Basically having matches in every participating country spread over couple of months according to the gaps in International calender. That will excite local fans of the team and also will provide a chance for Pakistani team to compete by avoiding touring India.

The Pakistan Foreign Office has asked its international cricket players not to visit India citing security concerns, The News reports.
The Pakistan Foreign Office is yet to rescind this.
Also, allowing the current Pakistan T20 domestic champions to play in India brings with it the prospect of Pakistani fans traveling across the border. Given that there have been previous instances of Pakistanis, ostensibly cricket fans, “disappearing” in the country and given the proximity of the Champions League to the first anniversary of 26/11, it is best that the Pakistanis are a no show this year..

Let the Pakistan Foreign Office allow its cricketers to travel to India first, unconditionally ( and unconditionally meaning India reserves the right to allow or disallow the supporting fan base from entering the country.).

One of the best teams in the world is not appearing in the first tournament, so it isn’t a only the best tournament, it’s a mostly the best tournament. And the Stallions weren’t not invited because of that wacky Pakistani ruling as you well know.

The Pakistani Cricket team is a separate entity from the Sialkot Stallions, no? Also, if Victoria or NSW were playing Pakistanis in their teams, the Champions League wasn’t about to not play them.
So yes, the wacky Pakistani ruling has a huge bearing on Pakistani participation in the Champions League.

H, Are only the best teams playing in this tournament, no. You can blame India (some will), Pakistan (some will) or Kayne West (I do), but the truth is the truth, and the Champion’s League is pretending Pakistan does not exist. That is what this post is about. My post was not saying India, Australia, or South Africa, the three organisers of this shindig for Pakistan’s exclusion, it merely pointed out that a team that should be in this tournament is not, and that compromises the tournament on a cricket level. Then I put in some baywatch.

For the longest time, the triangular series in Australia was marketed as the “World Series of Cricket”. Heck, In the US, The Superbowl champions are crowned “World Champions” Ditto the NBA and the MLB.
And that means what? Does it diminish the tournament ( or the competition)? You can blame marketing, but then again, thats what marketing does best!

Guys Guys, being Pakistani I think right now it is better if any Pakistani stay away from India . Politics is going wild all around. Those shit people looking for a chance to move forward there hypocraycy by doing something nasty and ignite situation. Till things are not settled down politicaly a visit will be very valnurable, this is a ground relaity.
But for cricket fans, pakistani fans this is not good. Currently they either have to work out a way to host matches outside India and Pakistan both (not cool financialy) but what else or wait for the politicians to sleep.
I am even concerned about next World cup if things remains like this there are chances of Pakistan not being able to play matches in India.

I don’t blame marketing, but why can’t I, one of the key dissenting views, point this out, you know the commentators won’t, and most of the newspapers wont. So I said it. And I’d say it again. World series cricket wasn’t a tournament, it was an advertisement for how small packer’s cock was.
Jrod’s point is valid, If there is at least one team from each major International test playing country, Pakistan’s team should be there too. As they are always exciting to watch in 20/20. They have some fan following in India. Any match between Stallions and any Indian franchise will be huge crowd magnet.
Looking forward for at least couple of Pakistani players playing for there franchises though.

You make it sound like they are not there because they were not invited to the party. The converse. Pakistanis playing on Indian soil would guarantee a huge audience and a sell out game, esp playing against one of the IPL sides. So obviously Modi would love to have them. It needs to be pointed out that they are currently engaged in a spirited national debate about the correlation between facial hair and cricketing performance. I feel they should be left alone to resolve this debate in peace, and once they have an answer they can come out and play with everyone else. Meanwhile in their absence, there is absolutely no need to rename or asterisk-ise the tournament. They have to ake a national choice whether they want to be in the global mainstream or sit out and grow beards. Don’t blame Modi for internal Paki matters.
Yes, and Pakistan have won by the help of Almighty God. Many the countries like India, Australia, S. Africa and England are pushing Pakistan to the side. They don’t want to go to Pakistan but they would go to India even if there is bomb blasts and stuff going on. Just after mumbai atack English team went to India to play cricket but they would never go to Pakistan even a year after any of those things happen to Pakistan. It’s just Pakistan does not blame India the way India blames Pakistan for attacks on their countries even though they got not a single proof of Pakistan involvement in what happend in mumbai. But it’s just the media. India got a strong media so they can tell the world whatever lies they want.
