Jrod, I’ve read Homer’s blog over the years and the one thing ironically missing from it, is indeed respect. Hence I do accord him some respect – very little.
He is the epitome of disrespectful, rude one eyed Indian bloggers compared to say a gentleman and scholar such as say a Q.
2nd, I’d disagree with that. He thinks things through. I don’t always agree with him, but he isn’t some raving looney Indian who thinks that England and Australia are automatically evil and that India is the best team ever. If every Indian on the web thought things through as much as he did, the online cricket world would be a much more harmonious place. He has also been coming here since I started, and he has added to this blog through the comments. When the Strauss catch was being talked about he was one of the first to bring up the Dhoni catch off KP.
I care a jot of whether you like me or not or your opinion of me. You dont know me and I dont care to know you. The only overlap we have is the topic on hand. Now either you can provide an argument to counter mine or you can agree with me ( on the topic at hand). Not very hard to do if you actually get around to trying it.
Homer is a diplomat. That’s why he always puts “Cheers” on the end of his comments, to take the sting out of them. The smiley merely reinforces the intent.
“diplomacy is to do and to say, the nastiest things, in the nicest way”
jrod, since when is blogging about showing respect ? It’s supposed to be hierarchical now? A class system? Blog-less posters and newbies must kow-tow to their elders? As if you ever showed respect, back when you were a blog-less nobody sticking in topic-unrelated comments about D Hussey on Patrick and Will’s blogs.
Really, your pomposity! Must be from living in England.
Steve, Not hierarchical, but respect is ok. The amount of comments Homer has put here earns him some respect in my eyes. And I never put comments about D Hussey on P Kidd or W Luke when I was blog-less. I never commented anywhere when I was blog-less, cause i didn’t even know this shit existed.
Jrod I’ve been reading your blog since 07 and would probably rival H in number of comments. Probably did about 40 alone in your quest to get into The Wisden rag. I change my name regularly.
I love your work most of the time except when you are bagging Queenslanders or having a love fest for mediocre Victorian cricketers. I love the fact you give us the freedom to say shit like – Homer you are an obnoxious little fuckbag with no redeeming features.
And Steve is right, there has been a recognisable change in you since you moved to England. I just thought it was the poor weather and lack of sunlight.
2nd, if you are who I think you are, and its hard to know who you are with the constant fucken name changes, and someone was personal to you then i’d tell em to back down as well. I am so sick and tired of the backwards ass nonsense between aussie and indian fans. Especially on here. I like to think of my fans as cricket fans first and jingoistic assholes secong. I give my fans more credit than to be lulled into this bullshit, and I am sick of it. I don’t moderate comments because I believe in free speech.
As for this bullshit about me changing, let me say 2 things, cricket blogs were better in my day, and everyone changes. There is one thing that I have stayed true to, i only say what i think, and i only write for me. Now if you have been around since 07, like i believe you have, tell me if that has changed.
Does the bomb “threat” mean that the Australians will pull out of the Ashes? They should, if only for consistency’s sake!
Cheers,
It was probably an Indian, trying to get revenge for Sydney 2008
cheers
Anonym,
The disparity in Ponting and Symonds’ IPL paycheck is payback enuf
Cheers,
Homer shouldn’t you be studying for your hairdressers course at Sydney uni of tech instead of trolling here?
2nd slip.
Is that the best coursework you can offer?
Cheers,
Based on your education level, aptitude and monetary situation…. yes.
2nd, Homer is a legendary blogger, show some respect.
lol 2nd slip.. Your statement is more reflective of your condition than mine
Cheers UJ
.. High praise there.. Not sure if I am worthy
Cheers,

Forgot to add, in the Homeric tradition,
“Cheers,”
