360 minutes.

1 wicket.

And a shitload of runs.

That is what has happened in the middle sessions of this test at cardiff.

I think that, and the fact that it is raining now and it should rain some more, mean the draw is still favourite here.

But what is going in this middle session.

How come no one can take wickets then?

Sure it is true that England have found wickets harder to find than Paris Hilton’s virginity, but Australia didn’t look any more likely to take wickets in their one over session.

It’s not like teams have already had big partnerships coming in.

Collingwood and KP had been batting four about half an hour, Clarke and North the same, and Ponting and Katich joined each other in the session.

It is annoying me.

I want answers.

It’s global warming isn’t it?

I was thinking it could have something to do with the condition of the ball at lunch.

Day 1- 27 overs, probably the shines gone off a little so yea..

Day 2 – 8 overs, no explanation whatsoever there

Day 3 – 99 overs, However, England took the new ball when it was due at 80. So 19 overs old. Again no plausible explanation.

So Global warming seems about right.

No spin, but seems less about England’s bowling and more about the Aussies’ resolute, patient batting.

Interesting to have it all come to a head over the weekend thanks to the Wednesday start
