To be fair not all commentators went along with it.

When someone mentioned that Aamir was only 17 to Geoff Lawson on TMS he laughed and said “no he’s not”, but I suppose he has more inside knowledge than most.

I know that it goes on. I know that if a 20 year old takes part in an under 19 world cup, it helps his career a lot but kills the opportunity for someone under 19. Look at Pradeep Sangwan, does he look 18? I am 21 and i look younger than Ishant Sharma. Like Much Younger! I have met Rohit Sharma, and he looks 25 any day. All bullshit goes on as no one cares. There is no way to prove it as well. So when the commentators repeat someone's age, its only because its their cue. They dont give a fuck about the real age, trust me.
