India lost a twenty20 game; it seems news worthy as it doesn’t seem to happen a lot.

There are probably a few reasons for the loss; the fact that India have played two opponents that required of them only their presence.

Finally they get to the real part of the tournament and they play a team that has had to fight just to stay in it.

The bigger reason seems to be that Dhoni had a shocker.

I’m a fan of his captaincy, and his waddle, but India losing seemed to be directly related to his batting position and they way he batted.

Dhoni coming it at 5 was my favourite bit.

When it is 1/59 in 7 overs against Bangladesh, and Dhoni comes in at 3.

Also at 1/77 against Ireland he is happy to waddle himself to the middle.

But at 1/12 against the Windies, he is nowhere to be seen.

HE didn’t come in until there were 3 wickets down, little Raina was sent in at number 3 for the first time in the tournament.

In the IPL I noticed that he comes in when things are going good, or when winning runs are there to be hit.

Something to keep an eye on.

Ofcourse when Dhoni got in, he did sweet fuck all, 11 off 23, so maybe he still went in too early.

This is all good ofcourse, as it gives the India media a real reason to bag Dhoni, not a manufactured one.

India are one loss away from being out of the tournament.

What a wonerfully well organised tournament this is.

Don’t blame Dhoni for the poor fielding or the senseless batting of Rohit Sharma and Raina.. or even Dwayne Bravo’s hitting of Ishant Sharma et al.

This was a collective failure and will justifiedly result in India being kicked out of the tournament when they face up to the South African machine. Don’t see them handling a fired up Steyn, Kallis and Parnell up front. Or even being able to stop AB, Albie or ROFL.

If of course India lose to England on Sunday…… no just saying that makes it sound wrong.

Well, I’ve just lost money and officially know dick about cricket.

actually where the fuck were the fielders? i blame his field placements because there were chunks of open space all around for the windies to hit. just a shocker but yuvraj + yusuf were doing well. if only they had lasted couple more overs.

Well, nice try by Alok to deflect blame. 11/23 in a T20. Sucks. No matter what gloss you put on it.

jrod, the fact that you are gently wading into Dhoni gives me hope. Hope he’ll get your full treatment soon. Yeah, well organised tournament. Oz out in first round :-) .

Dhoni played in the match as if were a 50 over game. There was no intent on his part to actually up the score. Letting the spinners bowl their over at less than a run a ball was a crime. Especially after Bravo showing how to whack a spinner.

Thats a point worth pondering, Jrod. This is exactly what Dhoni has been doing. He comes in when the going is good, and sends out others when batting is tough out there. Either way its a win-win situation for him. If he gets runs by coming in early, he is the hero, and if he doesnt get runs when he comes in late, the damage has probably been done already, and he is not responsible for it. The top order would be. And he can play his plodding game and look to ‘consolidate’.

if he doesn’t come in early..he is shirking captain’s responsibility…if he comes in early he is being too selfish…which one is it asshats?

he comes in at 3 if a wicket falls after 6 overs, he comes in later otherwise..

Well I do agree this match we lost due to Dhoni (although some of the other players contributed as well).

But it is extremely frustrating that Dhoni always comes to bat at number 3 when the going is good or when the winning runs are there to be hit. Also he seems to have totally lost his batting form since the start of IPL. He cant time the ball and cant even play for a single or rotate the strike.

its both. he picks and chooses when he should be selfish or irresponsible.

I know that India’s first defeat against West Indies does not only shocked the fans but also but also put India team in the brink of elimination. Now, they will face England team in a “do or die” T20 match. It is the time to see how they make their come back in the competition.
